The Iron Man Experience

by on Apr.14, 2012, under Comics

Ever wondered exactly how Tony Stark went from the Mark I Iron Man suit to his most recent, Mark VII, suit? Find out through the design logs of Tony Stark in this new interactive comic by Marvel and Loud Crow Industries. It’s in the free apps section of the iPad app store, so naturally I downloaded a copy. I have to say: it’s quite an entertaining read and the fact that you can click on various images for a wide variety of sounds makes this comic all the better. There’s even a full musical soundtrack to accompany it. This is certainly one app to add to the ‘download’ list. Check out the full synopsis below:

Set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, “Marvel’s The Avengers: Iron Man – Mark VII” is an epic interactive comic book experience through the design logs of super hero Tony Stark as he journeys from his Mark I armor, used to escape from captivity in the Ten Rings insurgents’ cave, to the high-powered Mark VI armor, used to vanquish Ivan Vanko and his army of Hammer Drones.

A war has started and we are hopelessly outgunned. It is time for billionaire philanthropist Tony Stark to upgrade his Iron Man armor for the upcoming battle when “Marvel’s The Avengers” assemble for the blockbuster movie event of summer 2012.

This month an amazing comic written by Joe Hill and illustrated by Gabriel Rodrigues wraps up its 5-year run at the end of this month.  This dark fantasy about a family living in an enchanted house has been a wonderful and completely unique experience.  As much as it’s a shame to see it end it’s exciting to see the outcome of this series and what will come next from the mind and pen of both these artists.  For those interested Joe Hill has been dropping hints about the finale to fans on his twitter page!  (http://twitter.com/#!/joe_hill)

The last issue is scheduled to hit comic stores on March 28th.

Early this week Mark Millar spilled the beans about two films that are going to be made based on his comics. Kick-ass 2 and American Jesus are green lit for production this summer. For all those non-Millar fans that are upset about him making Wolverine old and Superman a Communist, you need to hold judgement and check out some of his non-superhero works such as the Unfunnies and American Jesus. To all the fans, you have a few more future comic book movies to add to the must see list.
