Minecraft on the 360

by on May.07, 2012, under Games

Get your diamond picks ready, and watch out for creepers, because in just two days the hit indie game Minecraft will be lining the virtual shelves of the Xbox Live Arcade. It’s going to run you 1600 Microsoft points, which is about $20 in cash. Worry not though, if it’s anything like the original it should be worth every penny.

With the new format comes some new changes to the game, such as:

  • Split screen functionality for 4 players,  and up to 8 players online.
  • A whole new crafting interface optimized for the Xbox 360 controls.
  • A tutorial mode for those new to Minecraft.

As always, the game includes biomes, mobs, mining, crafting, and everything else that you’d expect in a Minecraft game. This is definitely something worth checking out, and it won’t make too big a Notch in your wallet.

Space Ham

Sporting some new features, birds, updated graphics, and a whole ton of fun new levels, Angry Birds Space hits the virtual shelves of the app store for the iPhone today (As well as versions for other mobile devices).  The story involves something along the lines of alien pigs and wormholes but it isn’t really the story that sells the game, it’s the game play. And that, rest assured, is just as good, if not better, than the three previous Angry Birds games.

Coming to America, Starring Ezio Auditore

by on Mar.06, 2012, under Games

The time of Ezio has come to an end. Today Montreal based game developer Ubisoft released the trailer for Assassin’s Creed 3. This time the game stars Connor, yet another ancestor of Desmond’s. Connor has been confirmed to be half Native American and Half English. I assume they call him Connor because no one can pronounce Ratohnhaké:ton. (his Mohawk name)

Expect lots of famous names you learned in history class to pop up. George Washington, Benjamin Franklin and Charles Lee have all been confirmed for appearances. Although it remains to be seen how much liberty Ubisoft will take with American History and how fans will react.

The Reapers are Coming

by on Mar.03, 2012, under Games

Epic, that’s all I have to say. Mass Effect, action, aliens, possible sex scene, guns, spaceships… what more could anyone ask for in a trailer? The trailer was released just yesterday from BioWare and it sums up pretty much all of the awesome that Mass Effect 3 is. Wage war with an ancient alien race and save humanity this coming Tuesday (That’s the 6th).
