About a week ago Hot Toys showed off some images of the upcoming Bane figure for the Dark Knight Rises. DC Direct responded with some teaser pictures of their own new upcoming Dark Knight Rises toy line, and other promotional material. The new figures are set to make a debut in February at the New York toy fair, and the other promotional material (Dark Knight Rises lunchbox anyone?) is set to hit shelves soon.

Sideshow Collectibles and BBTS have opened the pre-orders for Play Arts Kai’s super articulated 9 inch tall Arkham Asylum Batman and Joker figures.

Warner Home Video has released the full Blu-ray and DVD specs for their upcoming animated film Batman: Year One, which is set to come out on October 18th. This movie actually looks like it’s going to be pretty fucking awesome. Full details after the jump!

Comics legend Frank Miller’s classic retelling of Batman’s gritty, formative days makes its full-length animated debut in Batman: Year One, the next entry in the popular, ongoing series of DC Universe Animated Original Movies. Batman: Year One is based on the landmark 1987 DC Comics titles from 12-time Eisner Award winner Frank Miller and illustrator David Mazzucchelli. The film depicts young Bruce Wayne’s return to Gotham City in his first attempts to fight injustice as a costumed vigilante. The playboy billionaire chooses the guise of a giant bat to combat crime, creates an early bond with a young Lieutenant James Gordon (who is already battling corruption from inside the police department), inadvertently plays a role in the birth of Catwoman, and helps to bring down a crooked political system that infests Gotham.

Primetime television stars Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), Ben McKenzie (Southland, The O.C.), Eliza Dushku (Dollhouse, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica) provide the core voices for Batman: Year One. Three-time Emmy® Award winner Cranston gives voice to young Jim Gordon, while McKenzie makes his animated voiceover debut as Bruce Wayne/Batman. Fanboy favorites Dushku and Sackhoff fill the roles of Selina Kyle/Catwoman and Detective Sarah Essen, respectively. Alex Rocco (The Godfather) is the voice of crime lord Carmine Falcone.

The first official poster for the third film in Christopher Nolan's epic Batman feature film franchise has been released. With a teaser poster now revealed, a teaser trailer can't be far behind, can it? Rumours are swirling that it will appear with this weeks release of the new "Harry Potter" movie.

First look at Catwoman in her new DC Animated Short

Check out this new image of Catwoman from her next animated incarnation. The big news is that there will be a new Catwoman DC Short attached to “BM:YO”. The solo outing, written by Paul Dini and featuring an all new villain named Rough Cut (voiced by Futurama’s John DiMaggio).

I'm really looking forward to playing Batman: Arkham City when it's released this fall! In the trailer above, it looks like we will now get to play as CATWOMAN! I'm not sure what the button combo will be to do that "kiss-then-punch" move, wonder how she deals with "Thug Breath", I can't see Joker or Arkham having a dental plan.

There are amazing other cover artists out there, but none of them stun us so regularly. Between his covers for Detective Comics and his various Marvel covers, the guy is pumping out magnificent works of art at a ridiculous pace. .

This week, Jock premiered a Joker cover on his twitter, presumed to be for an upcoming issue of his current series Detective Comics. Within 9 minutes Jock obtained over 25 retweets of this image, leading the artist to remark that he’s “NEVER had a response like that before. hit a nerve? maybe a funny bone….”

The marketing team for The Dark Knight Rises are having some fun again. In the campaign leading up the release of The Dark Knight in 2008, fans were led on a series of viral marketing treasure hunts leading to information about the film. It looks like the same thing is happening with this third film in Nolan's trilogy, starting with this image of Tom Hardy (Inception, Bronson) as Bane.
