Rob Liefeld Hints at R-Rated Deadpool Movie Test Footage

by on Jan.17, 2012, under Film

Bleeding Cool News noticed that at Amazing Arizona ComicCon this past weekend while in a panel with Scott Lobdell, Liefeld hinted about seeing an R-Rated eight minutes of test footage for the Deadpool movie.
They’ve got a great director on the movie, they’ve got a great script. I may or may have not seen some sort of test of footage that would blow your mind if you saw it and go holy crap and that’s Deadpool in costume. Katana swords, guns, shooting people’s faces off and making me laugh. And I may or may not have seen something that looks just like that. And you’ve got what would amount to the first R Rated X-Men movie. Because that script is R Rated. They may or may not have wanted to shoot eight minutes to see how it would play. And all I can tell you, it’s close. It’s closer that it’s even been to going, or going Naaah, that’s too scary a proposition to make a R Rated Deadpool movie.

Not sure what that means, has he seen it, or is he just stroking the crowd (ayo), either way, I still hate Rob Liefeld.

Cool Custom: Crusader Deadpool

by on Apr.12, 2011, under Nerdery

Created by Vujonny at ActionFigureNews, who has created a Crusader Deadpool.

Here is how Vujonny describes the making of this figure:

Crusader Deadpool’s base body was from a Dante’s Inferno figure.
I had an extra one cause ebgames gave me two.
I just got a marvel stand and cut it to make a shield
The sword was from TF drift with a bit of Thors sword.
The Spartan helm I know is a different era
but i just threw in cause its been sitting around.
Got some rubber wires and just glued it on for the chest and the face
Sculpted his eyes and covered his mouth

Deadpool Director Announced: Tim Miller

by on Apr.08, 2011, under Film

Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Visual Effects Artist Tim Miller has been tapped by 20th Century Fox to direct Marvel's Deadpool in his own feature film. Actor Ryan Reynolds, who played the character in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, will reprise his role in this new stand-alone movie.

This would be Miller's first time directing a feature film, but he has a long history as a Visual Effects supervisor on several films including comic flicks like Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, X-Men, X2 and Daredevil.

Miller joins a well-skilled group of people trying to bring the Merc with a Mouth to the silver screen once again: Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have already written the script, and longtime blockbuster film producer Lauren Shuler Donner is shepherding the project.
