SDCC: “The Walking Dead” Season 2 Trailer
by ilango on Jul.22, 2011, under Comics, Film
AMC has debuted the trailer for “The Walking Dead” Season 2, which premieres on October 16.
Filming is currently underway for the second season of AMC’s hit zombie show and, damn, things are sure looking amazing! I don’t think they’d veer quite so far from the comics, the whole cast looks fuckin’ miserable, and that’s what makes Walking Dead so dope!

Rick from “The Walking Dead” plays “Rock, Paper, Scissors” with Zombies!

The Walking Dead season two teaser premiered last night during the commercial break for the season four opener for AMC’s other great show Breaking Bad.
While The Walking Dead has shown that it’s not afraid to stray from the comic book source material (see the Season 1 finale at the CDC in Atlanta,WTF!), we know that large portions of Season 2 will take place on the Hershel farm. Scott Wilson and Lauren Cohan (Supernatural) will be playing Hershel and his daughter Maggie, while Pruitt Taylor Vince will play Otis the farmhand.
Five more months till walking dead, I'm assuming we'll see a bit more this weekend at SDCC!
Zombie Time Share? New “Dead Island” Teaser!
by ilango on May.18, 2011, under Games
Check out this new Dead Island preview! Now, you may be sick of zombies and zombie games, and I wouldn't begrudge that of you. But there several things that make me intrigued by Dead Island:
- the concept of a "vacation island" is a new setting for a zombie game
- gameplay happens in the harsh light of day, unlike virtually every other horror game
- zombies in bikinis = mega scary!

The Walking Dead is one of those comics that once you start getting into it, you just can’t pull away from it. I remember seeing Blair Butler on G4 gush about the love/hate relationship she had with Kirkman’s material. Her gripes mainly with character development, the build up characters and relationships only to see them die horrifically, emphasis on horrific! I’m not one to judge a man’s style of writing, but the way Kirkman forces the reader to feel uncomfortable is pure genius. Comics are meant to push boundaries …. rant over!
For weeks I kept wondering how faithful this series will be to the source material, especially considering the medium. I’m especially excited to hear that creator Robert Kirkman is heavily involved with The Walking Dead TV production. He actually wrote the script for episode 4. Kirkman expressed in the past how he never wanted to do a movie with his comic series, and doing a TV show was a really tough sell, especially with the edgy violent content that this show will have. AMC has really stepped up to the occasion though, and as you’ve seen in the images that have been released, they are pushing the limits of cable TV. |
Thanks to the power of youtube, we finally get our first peek at the footage from SDCC 10, video and synopsis after the jump.
